Children’s Day Out

C.D.O. is the preschool hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Ennis.  It was started in 1985, and currently averages 50 students per year.  The children meet twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:15 am to 2:00 pm.  Various activities focused on learning are tailored to each class, helping the children prepare for life in “Big Kids School.”  For the older students, frequent trips to the library and other of-site locations help instill proper behavior when traveling in groups.

There also is a formal Pre-K program, taught by Pat Reel and Sheri Payne.  They each have many years of teaching experience, and a kind, gentle manner.  The Kindergarden teachers at the EISD Early Childhood Center report back year after year that our students are especially well prepared for the formal classroom setting.
