Aldersgate Class

This is a mixed class of singles and married individuals which will delve into topical matters of faith, church history, and Wesleyan thought.

February 2021 - this class began meeting in person again at the church....

What's going on in this class.....

Aldersgate is involved in a study of what God calls man to be, to be followed up with a study of what God calls women to be.

It is not necessary to be at every class as we will review prior discussion each week.

Lately we have been meeting in the "Parlor" or Foyer area to make ourselves
more visible to incoming members and visitors.

Ronnie Washburn (on the right) is leading the discussion.

Feel free to stop and be with us --
join in the discussions or just come to listen.
You are always welcome!

Who are we and what do we expect.....

This is a "young adult" Sunday School, approximately aged 20-40, single or couples, with or without kids.   This is a place for asking all the questions you thought were stupid, to ask anything you ever

wanted to ask but were afraid to. There is no judgment, just a thirst for knowledge. This class is set up to take whatever questions participants may have regarding life, God, the Bible, the Church, etc. and find or create a Bible study addressing those questions. These questions can be anything. For example, science versus religion, the marriage covenant, Trinitarianism, how do you find faith / what is faith, where do the dinosaurs come in, can you be Christian and not come to church, how do you find your spiritual gifts, how does God talk to us, is it ok to ask for a sign, is it really ok for kids to pray for ice cream, is it true that by asking the same thing over and over in prayer we aren't trusting God in the situation, etc.

January 2018

We just finished a Christmas study on the journey to Bethlehem. This looked into how Mary, a young girl that could "justifiably" be stoned, and Joseph, a young man taking on a "promiscuous" bride made it through this nine months: what they may have felt, where they traveled, etc.

We understand that there are many things that make it hard to get to church on Sunday so we are looking at ideas for things to do outside of the church walls to bring this group together like a family. Anyone is welcome anytime. If you can't make it, we'll understand and how you can the next time. On the "outings" we would get together, have some fun and maybe do a devotional too so that those that can't make it Sunday can still get a feel for the class and most especially our Lord.
