GAKAC Backpacking 2019 (8/4/2019)
Give-A-Kid-A-Chance is a cooperative effort of almost all the churches in town! School Supplies have been collected and sorted for all the different grade levels and empty backpacks are ready to be filled for Saturday, August 10, 2019. Ennis High School provides the space for the sorting and filling of the pack backs. People of all ages come together at Ennis High School on this afternoon to help fill those backpacks with the correct supplies for the students who will receive them!

This table has the empty backpacks; this table is the starting point for each set of school supplies by grade levels!Waiting in line to get an empty backpack!Each person with one or more backpack stops at each station to receive the school supply items for the grade level being packed at a given time.Marty Nelson organized this backpacking event!These people are supplying the stations with the proper supplies for the grade level being packed in backpacks.Here we go round AGAIN with empty backpacks to fill.Joey Svehlak is waiting for the next round of backpacks to be stacked by grade levels.Fill those backpacks!This table receives the backpack and labels it with the proper marker ribbon for the proper stack where they will be placed.Here is another angle of that table that marks the backpacks with color coding ribbons.Marty Nelson is out there helping as they complete every pack!Marty confers with a supply sorter!Here we go round again!The packs are adding up, aren't they!Turhing in backpacks to the marking table; then the packing volunteers IMMEDIATELY go back to the empty backpack table to get more empty packs to fill.These guys count the empty packs and set them out for the next grade level.Superintendent Jay Tullos and his wife Amy have being circling the tables filling backpacks, too!Starting with this picture -- the next 13 pictures were sent to us by Ennis ISD Communications Officer Bill Honza!
